Inspired by the Mexica/Aztec direction of the North. This black-and-grey knit design honors Mictlampa.
The front of the cardigan features Mictlancihuatl, wife of Mictlantecuhtli, accompanied by a Xolotl, who guides souls to and through their journey of the underworld. The lower hem features containers of skulls and bones. The sleeves carry a large centipede traveling across both arms, framed by skull-and-heart border details.
On the back, Mictlantecuhtli — Lord of Mictlan, the Land of the Dead — appears in full ceremonial regalia, seated on a jaguar-cushioned throne.
Rooted in Mexica ancestral knowledge, this cardigan represents:
- Direction: North (Mictlampa) – Place of Rest, Transformation
- Color: Black
- Season: Winter
- Symbolism: Elders, Ancestors, Spirit World
